In order to receive CSV files with the latest values of the data points at regular intervals, an export schedule can be created.
Overview
In the overview, the already created schedules can be viewed and de-/activated.
Create schedule
A new schedule can be created by clicking on the “Create” button.
A schedule cannot be edited after it has been saved. To create a change duplicate the existing schedule.
- Select the Digital Twins / Virtual Devices you want to include in the export. The devices to be exported can be selected using the filter function, which is already known from the list view of the Digital Twins and Virtual Devices. All digital twins or virtual devices that match the filter criteria are exported for each export. If devices that match the filter criteria are created after the schedule has been created, these will also be exported.
By default, filters work on “partial hits”, i.e. a filter for Id 123 finds both the device with the Id 123 and all other devices with this character combination, e.g. 1123 or 51234. To get only “exact hits”, the filter criterion must be set to “”, e.g. “123”.
-
Which time zone should be used for the export? In which time zone are you located? This field is important so that the export is always executed at the correct time. The default value selected here is “Europe/Berlin”.
-
How often should the export take place? In this step, the frequency of the export is defined. Should the export be performed annually on a certain date, monthly, daily, or hourly?
-
Which period should be exported for each export? For the period can always be selected between the currently running period and the past period. Assuming the export takes place at 11 am.
- If “current day” is selected as the time period, the values from 00:00 to 11:00 are exported.
- If “last day” is selected as the time period, the values from 00:00 to 24:00 of the previous day will be exported.
-
Limit the scope of the export by applying a function to reduce the number of values to be exported. Often not all values, but only the last value, etc. are needed. Here the export can be limited by an application of a function.
Execute export schedule immediately
Export schedules can also be triggered manually outside the configured interval. The “Play” button to trigger the functionality is located on the overview page of the export schedules.
The exports can be downloaded via the menu item Background Jobs, in the “Bulk Export Jobs” tab.
One of the most common use cases will be to export meter data for billing systems.. In this case, it is convenient to perform monthly export on the 1st of the month. As a period can be considered the last month, and as a function “last value”. Thus, the latest meter reading is always exported.
